We have some important work planned for our greens and tees this fall, including a temporary course closure in November.
Lady Bird Golf Course is scheduled to be closed November 2–11, 2026, for overseeding of the greens and tees. The driving range will remain open.
The course is looking good, and the work we do this fall is about keeping it healthy and improving playing conditions through winter and spring.
Preparations begin right after Labor Day with aerification and topdressing of the greens, on September 8 and 9. In November, we’ll overseed the greens and tees, adding new grass seed to the existing turf.
For the seed to germinate, the newly seeded areas need short, frequent watering cycles throughout the day. The planned 10-day closure will allow us to maintain that watering schedule and give the new grass time to establish without golf traffic.
This is a significant investment in playing conditions and part of our effort to address the challenges we’ve experienced in past springs. Our goal is a more consistent putting surface through winter and spring.
